New Years Success: 3 Questions To Ask Yourself

new-years-successNew Years is around the corner.  And with a new year comes all the resolutions, hopes, and aspirations to “do better” at whatever you want to “do better” at.  The most common of which are diet and fitness.  Just about everyone has hopes to be more successful at these two things… as they seem among the hardest in life to figure out (at least they were for me).  The important thing is to start thinking now, getting the wheels churning in that ol’ noggin.  I want to ask you to think of some basic questions, that will help bring you new years success.

New Years Success

It’s going to come down to planning and execution.  At least long enough to develop a habit that will stick.  So the key here will be to start thinking about an approach that will work for you.

Question 1: What am I going to do for my nutrition?

This is the most important question of all and the key to new years success.  How will you change your diet, creating one that supports a HEALTHY body.  Let’s forget about weight loss and foods with stupid weight loss claims for a second.  Think about how you will prepare real, whole foods… cutting out the processed stuff that makes you unhealthy in the first place.  This is a diet that will be both effective and long term sustainable.  I highly recommend starting to learn about real foods and how to prepare them.  And I have several articles on how to prepare real, whole food in batches over the weekend to make life easier.  Even how to shop to get more healthy food in your shopping cart.

Question 2: How am I going to approach fitness?

The gym?  Classes?  Or one of my in home programs?  Doesn’t really matter as long as it’s something with a sound schedule, programming, and variety.  Getting really fit is no mistake, and the best know to maximize their results by leaving scheduling and routines to professionals.  Think you can design your own highly effective routine and program?  Not likely, sorry.  Rely on the mulititude of resources on the internet or get one of my Beachbody programs and make me your coach.  I can definitely help you with new years success.

Question 3: What has NOT worked for me in the past?

This isn’t an opportunity to dwell on past failures, it’s a chance to learn from them.  People tend to try the same thing that doesn’t work (especially long term) over and over.  Because it’s all they know.  If you have tried a crash diet, a paleo diet, or just hit the treadmill for weeks on end and ended up where you started… then it’s time to change the program!  Engage (again) the endless resources on the internet and learn… or talk to me!  This is what I do!

New Years Success

Once you are on the other side of health and fitness success, it’s seems very simple.  And that’s why I help people.  I understand how confusing this is when you don’t know what you don’t know.  Everything out there makes claims that seem will fix your problems… but in the end it comes down to two basic things.

Eating a diet that consists (at least mostly) of real food.  And working out consistently.  And no, these workouts don’t have to be crazy extreme… they just have to happen.  This is how you get new years success.
